Artificial Intelligence Policy
Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence
The editorial board of the journal Socialization and Human Development acknowledges that artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including generative AI systems, may be employed in the preparation of scholarly texts. At the same time, the use of such tools must comply with the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and responsibility.
The use of AI tools does not exempt authors from full responsibility for the content of submitted work.
Use of Artificial Intelligence by Authors
Authors may use artificial intelligence tools for the following purposes:
- linguistic editing of the text;
- improvement of writing style;
- technical data processing or supplementary analysis.
At the same time, authors are obligated to:
- clearly disclose the use of AI tools in the relevant section of the article (for example, in the “Methods” section, the “Acknowledgements” section, or a separate notice to the editorial board);
- verify the accuracy and reliability of all results obtained with the assistance of AI;
- ensure that the final text of the article has been thoroughly reviewed by the authors.
Artificial intelligence tools may not be listed as authors of an article, as they are incapable of bearing responsibility for the content of a scholarly work.
Use of Artificial Intelligence by Editors and Reviewers
Editors and reviewers may use artificial intelligence tools solely as supplementary aids (for example, for checking the style or structure of a text).
In doing so, they must:
- ensure the confidentiality of manuscripts;
- refrain from uploading the full text of manuscripts to third-party AI services without the permission of the editorial board;
- refrain from using AI to make editorial decisions automatically or to prepare reviews without appropriate expert evaluation.
Ultimate responsibility for editorial decisions and the content of reviews rests with the editors and reviewers.
Responsibility for Content
All authors bear full responsibility for:
- the accuracy of the data;
- the reliability of the research findings;
- the absence of plagiarism;
- the conformity of the text with the standards of academic ethics.
The editorial board of the journal reserves the right to request additional clarification regarding the use of artificial intelligence tools in the preparation of a manuscript.
