Archiving Policy

The journal Socialization and Human Development ensures the long-term preservation and accessibility of published materials through the use of modern digital archiving solutions and international standards for the storage of scholarly publications.

The purpose of the archiving policy is to guarantee permanent access to the scholarly materials of the journal, even in the event of the website ceasing to operate or changes to the technical infrastructure.

Repositories and Archiving Systems

The journal employs the Open Journal Systems electronic publishing platform, developed by the Public Knowledge Project, which supports integration with international archiving networks.

The following archiving mechanisms are used to ensure the long-term preservation of publications:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) — an international digital preservation network that provides long-term archiving for journals operating on the Open Journal Systems platform;
  • support for the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH) for the indexing and archiving of metadata;
  • the possibility of depositing publications in institutional and national scholarly repositories.

Technical Measures for Ensuring Accessibility

To maintain the accessibility of scholarly materials, the journal employs:

  • regular server-side data backups;
  • the use of standardised metadata formats;
  • support for international protocols for the exchange of scholarly information;
  • storage of archival copies of articles in digital archiving systems.

Self-Archiving

Authors are entitled to deposit the published versions of their articles in:

  • institutional repositories;
  • national scholarly archives;
  • thematic scholarly databases;
  • personal or institutional university websites.

In doing so, the complete bibliographic description of the publication and a link to the official version of the article on the journal’s website must be provided.

Guarantees of Long-Term Access

The editorial board of the journal is committed to ensuring continuous access to scholarly publications and the preservation of scholarly content through the use of international digital archiving systems and adherence to the standards of open scholarly communication.
